Combined Heat & Power
What is Combined Heat & Power or Cogeneration?
Traditional power generation can be inefficient and the waste heat generated during the process is an indication of how unproductive the system is. Combined heat and power (CHP) is a method of generating electrical power and recovering the waste heat. During the process, the CHP unit collects waste heat and utilizes this heat to supply steam or hot water to a utility. In many cases excess electrical power can be supplied to the grid while a steady supply of heated water or steam can match a consumer’s heat demand. This makes for a very fuel efficient system and reduces the the carbon footprint of any commercial, industrial, or municipal operation.
Who benefits from CHP?
Solutions can be applied in any structure where heating and / or cooling is necessary:
Hospitals and clinics
Retirement homes
Hotels
Schools
Shopping malls
Industrial establishments
Breweries
Fish processing
Our industry partner: TEDOM
TEDOM specialises in the development, production, installation and operation of CHP units. The company was founded in 1991 and since then it became a well-known brand in the Cogeneration Industry. TEDOM is active in more than 40 countries around the world.
In the past 30 years, the company has installed more than 4000 CHP units of various outputs and designs. In cooperation with renowned engine manufactures, TEDOM develops CHP units of solely its own design. The wide portfolio of CHP units with outputs ranging from 20 kW to 4,5 MW is running on natural and other gaseous fuels.
